How a restaurant can be listed

This is a how-to-choose guide, not a paid podium. If you operate a Thai room in one of our cities, tell us the neighbourhood and the practical facts — not a press quote.

Match an existing hub

This is a how-to-choose guide, not a paid podium. If you operate a Thai room in one of our cities, you may write to us with the neighbourhood and the practical facts. You may not buy a ranking, a crown, or a sentence that says you are currently the best. The form on this page is the same inbox as contact, labelled so we can see that an operator is writing.

Match an existing hub: Melbourne, Melbourne CBD, Carlton, Docklands, Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Gold Coast. If you are outside those catchments, say so. We will not invent a new city page from a single email, and we will not pretend a regional room is in the Grid.

What to send

  • Neighbourhood and street context (Pakington, Lydiard, Pall Mall, NewQuay, Burleigh, a Richmond stretch) — not a marketing district name we cannot walk
  • The job of the room: walk-up, family tables, lunch clock, groups
  • Accessibility notes that a diner can use: step at the door, wheelchair bathroom, hearing
  • Dietary notes that are true: vegetarian pastes without shrimp, gluten-free soy on request, peanut in the fryer — only if you will honour them
  • A plain description of the menu shape: soups, salads, pastes, woks. Not “award-winning fusion”

Do not send opening hours for us to publish as current. Hours change. A static site that prints them becomes a liar. Diners should check with you.

Do not send prices. We do not print them.

Do not send chef quotations, celebrity visits, or a list of hats. The news page explains why we will not launder those as content.

What we may do with a note

We may understand a neighbourhood better. We may correct a hub that speaks as if a street had no Thai rooms, without turning the hub into a directory. We may ask a follow-up about access or dietary practice. We may do nothing visible for a while, because this is not a paid inclusion cycle.

We will not publish your venue as “currently open” in a list. We will not score you. We will not place you above a neighbour because you emailed first.

If we ever mention a type of room in a hub, it will be as geography and method: a waterfront precinct, a university-edge walk-up, a goldfields family table. That is the most an operator should expect from an independent choosing guide.

Paid placements

We do not sell rankings. If someone claiming to represent this URL offers you a podium, they are not us. Report that via contact. Advertising, if it ever exists, will not be allowed to rewrite a tasting method or a recipe. Today, it does not exist on these pages.

Independence is also for operators who cook quietly. A short menu, a paste fried properly, a salad dressed to order: those facts matter more than a press kit. Send the facts.

Readers who are not operators should use recommend a venue instead. The disclaimer restates that listings — when they exist at all — are not a live directory and not advice to book without checking.

What people ask

Direct answers first

How can a restaurant be listed?
Write via the form with the city hub you belong to, a plain description of the room, and accessibility or dietary notes. We do not sell a ranking, and we will not publish your venue as “currently the best” or invent opening hours.

Prefer a short note?

The contact page accepts the same inbox if you are not a venue operator.
